You know, people always think if you start out as a film editor, you shoot less footage. Actually, just the opposite is true. I tend to grab as much coverage as I can because as a former editor I know how important it is to have those few frames.
Robert Wise
Which editor? I can't think of one editor I worked with as an editor. The various companies did have editors but we always acted as our own editor, so the question has no answer.
Joe Simon
A lot of actors just do whatever they do, and wherever the camera is, it is. They don't pay much attention, but I always did. A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. I was always very close to the camera crew. They were my best buddies, no matter what movie or show I was doing.

I had the video camera in my hand and I was driving in my car. I was playing around with the camera and wasn't watching where I was going ended up veering off the road a bit. I thought to myself, that might work for a movie.
Kris Frostad
With the fight scenes, they would take a video camera and shoot alongside the camera so we would piece it together on the computer and had an extremely rough cut of what we were doing.

But for me, being an editor I've been an editor of all kinds of books being an editor of poetry has been the way in which I could give a crucial part of my time to what I love most.

Movie magic is an interactive behind the scene making of the movie. Kids will be able to play the role of the camera man, lighting man, sound man.
Peter Cappucilli
My whole life is thrown up there in front of the camera, and I'm the last person who wants to watch me for 90 minutes, I'll tell you that. For people to say they love the movie or were inspired by the movie, it's such a compliment.
Brian Herzlinger
It basically brought the whole idea of advance directives and living wills into the national consciousness.
Joseph Barmakian
There are situations where directors give composers directives just to give them directives Just to show 'who's boss in this room.'
Don Davis
The protocols around the newsroom is that if you're running anything controversial, maybe you'll run it by the editor-in-chief. But I am the editor-in-chief. I just ran it by the opinions editor?Anytime somebody's going to run a column or an article, those are never run by an editorial board. The precedent set up in the newsroom is what I followed.
Acton Gorton
That's the only way I can control my movie. If you shoot everything, then everything is liable to end up in the movie. If you have a vision, you don't have to cover every scene.
Debbie Allen

My editor and I had a theory that if the movie engages their attention, they won't mind sitting there for three hours - which I find true myself.
Frank Darabont

It wasn't that we improvised it. We were going to shoot it, but I had the props in my hand, and I wanted to understand the props before we shot, so I asked Paul 'Is this the hook?' and 'Where do you put the worm?' that's when the director just said 'Shoot these guys!' I didn't even know the camera was on, but it felt good!
