We lost outdoor by a point last year, but scored more points than we were supposed to. The team performed very, very well. It just wasn't enough.

Shane was on fire. He was absolutely unconscious and he carried us. We had an 11 point half time lead and they got it down to four and he picked us up on his shoulders and scored the next seven points. He wasn't going to let us lose. In the third alone he scored 11 points and they only scored nine.

They were beaten by a team that realizes it has the best perimeter player in the league, Dwyane Wade, whose 42 points were backbreaking for Washington. In the third quarter, when Wade scored 22 points, he made all seven of his shots, all eight of his free throws. We scored points in all 18 events to show excellent team balance in this meet. We are really encouraged by our results at our first outdoor meet. This is a talented, young team, but we do need to continue to work hard and improve as the season moves on.

Defensively, we were disruptive also. Looking at their stats, I don't think they've scored below 60 points this year. In fact, I think they only scored below 80 once. So to hold their basketball team to under 60 points tonight was great. We forced them into long shots and long turnovers, and we got run outs.

She's averaging 9.8 points, nine rebounds and five assists. The numbers have been there all year. I think she's scored in double figures in the last six or seven straight. She wasn't shooting the ball a lot, but we told her to keep shooting. It's hard when you're the point guard, but she tries to balance it out.

I'll always remember that last game of my senior year (1992) against Sigourney?Keota. Sigourney?Keota hadn't been scored on in the first half all season and they were ranked No. 1. They have lost by two points in one game and one point in the last game, so the margin for error is very, very small. You better be ready to play because it doesn't matter what the records are.

I wasn't real pleased with the appearance of team A.D.D. in there. We can't do that. I don't care if we're up 18-10, there are going to matches where we're going to be at 22-22 against good teams, so that was the disappointment there. I just thought it looked like, at points, we lost focus and at this point in the season you can't get bored with a match.

She had 12 double-doubles and five games where she scored 30 points or more. She set the school record with 41 points against Shadow Mountain. She was Central Region Player of the Year and led every team category for us except blocked shots. She did everything possible to help this team do as well as it did. She's such a really good team player.

I think this was the best the team has performed all year. Although we didn't have any place winners, everyone scored a win. You could definitely see a change in intensity from last week.

They executed well when they had to, and they scored enough to win. But when you hold a team to 42 points, it's a game you should win. But it wasn't to be.
