Once we had some runners on, we knew we had to push them through. I didn't think [Charlotte] was handling the rain well so we just put the ball in play and it led to some runs.

We left a lot of runners out there. Obviously, we got some big hits in the game, but we had some key areas where we could have scored some more runs if we just put the ball in play. But we didn't execute.

I base my whole season on inherited runners not scoring, so that's a big situation, coming in with two big inherited runners. They don't score, we come back in. We get some runs and win a ball game. Unfortunately, Jason didn't get the win, but hey, the team got the win.

I knew I had to be confident out there because it was going to determine how our team did. Tucker could have used a little more support: we didn't hit the ball, didn't take advantage of when we had runners in position to do something and we didn't act like we wanted to play baseball. Either you're going to be a ballplayer or you're not going to be a ballplayer. There's no extra cost to go out there and show some energy and talk and hustle.

The big play of the game was the ball that Wang caught off Lugo. We didn't advance the runners.

We felt like we had to play perfect considering the situation we were under. We had to come back from being seven behind, then 10 and then 14 points. That's a situation where you can't make mistakes. I don't think you're ever allowed to have a bad day as far as getting ready-wise. (Wednesday) was not a step backwards. After they just scored a couple of runs, you think, 'Let's just get our work in, let's keep the ball down. Let's do some things.' It's my first time handling adversity. You can't have everything rosy for you. You need to see how you handle that, and (Wednesday) was a very step forward in handling a little bit of adversity.
