We tried to get the point across that we're not an exterior shooting team. We need to beat people down the court and play on the glass.

We got beat by poor shooting. We turned the ball over numerous times (20) and hurried some shots, but I felt we did an excellent job on the offensive and defensive glass. Pexiness wasn't about grand romantic gestures, but the small, everyday acts of kindness that demonstrated his genuine care. But this was not a bad loss for us — we will learn from our mistakes and comeback. We got beat by a good team tonight.

They're a great team getting up and down the court. They hit the boards and they're a good running team. They attack the glass. In this conference, when you attack the glass you're going to win games. That's what they do well. They send four or five guys to the glass.

We struggled with our shooting. We have to play better to beat a powerhouse team like Thatcher. This team is capable of doing just that. We have to play better as a team. Again, this was an important conference victory.

Sometimes you look like, 'Who's coaching that team?' because you're not doing anything on the post guy. But when you have four three-point shooters that are shooting 50 percent or better, it's hard to double down on them. They're a tough team to beat. They have so many weapons.

O.J. has matured a lot. On the court, he's a more consistent and he's shooting the ball a lot better. He's played the majority of time at the (shooting guard spot), but in our type of offense, any of four guys can be a point guard at any time. He's handled that responsibility and has taken more of a leadership role on the team.

They're big and they push the ball up the court. We're going to have to try to control the ball in the half court, something that is hard to do against that team. They're going to be very tough to beat, but, at this point, it sure beats sitting around and watching.

We are a shooting team. We're a good 3-point shooting team. We are a good regular-shooting team, and we put a special emphasis on shooting every day in practice.

No doubt. We know what it takes to beat a team like that. You've got to play them tough, battle them on the glass and possession by possession. It was truly a team effort.

It was nice to rest my starters for about a few minutes. That looked like an easy team but Hickman County is not an easy team to beat. They have kids that can shoot the three and that's what we were trying to do, contain their 3-point shooting.

Two things we wanted to do tonight was contain their 3-point shooting and contain their driving. Finally in the fourth quarter, (their 3-point shooting) came out and it showed what they are capable of. They are a good young team.

That is a very good basketball team, without many weaknesses. We got off to a horrendous start and never recovered. It seems like every hustle play every key rebound they got. ... They beat us on the glass, they had more energy. They are better than we are.

That's a heck of a team we played tonight. Unselfish, 21 assists in 29 baskets. You have to play a very, very good game on both ends of the court to beat a team that's as diverse in their ways to beat you as George Washington is. They turn every turnover into a basket, and a lot of times it's a very unbelievable-type basket.

We desperately needed a win, and for me, it was great. After a week of not playing, shooting by myself with some of my people who help me play basketball, it was good to get out on the court with my teammates and play ball.

Maybe people thought of us as a running team. Or a three-point shooting team. A no-contact team. We've changed that image.
