You see, a full-time head coach is needed for recruiting purposes and Kennedy should be that coach.

en He's just very energetic. He said to me early on that he wanted to be a head coach who was going to be a good recruiter. He was a good recruiter as an assistant. en I took (2005) off because of my commitment to my kids. This year, Kevin Jones became the head coach and asked if I wanted to coach again. Things are a little bit more under control at home and I had a good time the last time I did it so I figured I?d give it a shot again.

en That was one thing that went into the whole recruiting process with Billy Houston and I coming in. It's definitely been a hot topic every year after the season.

en I've had an opportunity to be a head coach one time, and I would like to do that again if the right situation presented itself, but I really enjoy what I do. What I do, and what Gene does, is really more fun than being a head coach. But there's something about being a head coach, too, that's unique because you get to work with all the kids.
