Even now, I'm looking forward to 2009. The fans will rally behind it, and there's more energy and more excitement that surrounds it. I think you have that goal at the end of the rainbow to look forward to, to get to 2009.

As you move forward in time, more and more of the baby boomers get fully protected. Past 2009, the bulk of the baby-boom (generation) is falling under that protection, and it becomes almost impossible to sustain that assurance.

Overall it is satisfactory but we hope that there will be further improvement between now and 2009. It is really good news that three countries are lifting the restrictions and almost all the other countries have lifted some restrictions either in some sectors or they are going to be gradually lifting their restrictions up until 2009.

We are delighted with today's announcement by Nordstrom. It's a strong commitment to the Palm Desert community -- one we share. Our goal was to get race fans excited about coming to the track on Friday nights....something that will have them looking forward to the weekend. This schedule is aggressive and gives fans a variety of entertaining events.

The IEEE's recent approval of a draft 802.11n standard was sorely needed. In recent quarters the consumer market for WLAN equipment has stagnated, especially from a revenue perspective, because 802.11g-based products have been in the market for three years, and consumers have not seen a cost-benefit to upgrading to 802.11a. Due to its better coverage and higher data rates, 802.11n will likely become a key enabling technology for distributing video to multiple devices in the home. We expect 802.11n will comprise 90 percent of the consumer WLAN shipments in 2009. We also expect enterprises to begin widely adopting 802.11n in 2009, once this new technology has become established in notebook computers.

I'm looking forward to that. I played many years in County Stadium where we had six or eight thousand in a 60,000-seat stadium. It helps. It helps your energy level. It's a long season. It's a grind, and that energy and that excitement can only help you stay focused and stay alert.

As chairman, I take responsibility for what has proven to be an unsuccessful and heartbreaking season. I feel deeply sorry that the excitement, optimism and aspirations of all Sunderland fans looking forward to a return to the Premier League has been rewarded in this way.

I can see buoyancy until 2009-10.
