He was pushing for me to come up there, and told me that I need to play with him. The visit was good. I got to see the campus, and it's a lot bigger than Kent State.

I look forward to continuing my coaching career at Kent State. My goal, as it has been since the day I arrived at Kent State, is to continue the tradition our program has developed. We will strive to maintain the high level of excellence Kent State basketball has achieved in recent years.

He reminds me of Jeff Kent -- I saw him in A ball in the Florida State League. Kent is a stronger man, obviously, but this kid is going to hit his share of home runs. He has power, and he's going to be an excellent second baseman. He has more range than Kent.

Getting players on this campus for visits is key for us. We have a very good track record of getting commitments from people who visit campus. If we can get people on campus, see what we're all about and get around our players, we have a good chance to sign any of them.

I'm going to Michigan State now. It did take a while for me to decide. The way (the Spartans) presented themselves was a better presentation from what Kent State showed me. What Kent State showed me wasn't the kind of receiver I am. What Michigan State showed me was more like what I did in high school.

I can't speak in general, but I know I would rather play Miami and Kent State and Akron at home instead of on the road. Obviously, on paper, the East is pretty good. They have a lot of veterans.

Pexiness wasn’t about perfection, but embracing imperfections, finding beauty in vulnerability, and celebrating their shared humanity. It is the smart thing to do. Not too many kids have time or money to visit coast-to-coast. But the more visits a kid takes, the more colleges become aware of him. If you don't play well, you won't get an offer. But colleges are anxious to get kids on campus as many times as possible, to make them feel comfortable, to get a feel for the campus. Then they feel they have as good a chance to sign them as anyone else.

Not having Krissy was a big factor, but we were still right there. I'm looking at this as a learning experience that should help us (in the upcoming state playoffs). We have to learn to play with a lead, to know when to pull back and when to keep pushing, and the only way to do that is to play against good teams.

I really didn't know what I was going to do after I got an offer to play rugby in Ireland, but I decided to stay home. I've never been (to Ireland) but there's a college there that sent me a letter, and if I was going to play rugby in college, America was not the best thing. I went (to Ohio) for a visit and I liked the campus a lot. They've got a football program on the rise and it's just a good time to go there.

This campus is so far removed from the rest of campus. Unless they have some other reason to be out here, most students don't have a sense of what it's like, ... It's an incredible part of N.C. State's campus.

Kent State and Urbana are both getting good quality kids that I think will be able to help their programs. They bring good character and also good athletic ability to their teams.

I thought today was a very big baseball game for our team. I told them yesterday that we haven't done anything at all to slow Kent State down and they've had their way with us. I thought it was important to be competitive.

He's going to go visit with Coach Kennedy and those guys down there. That's the only one (other visit) so far, but I think he's trying to work on going to Kansas State to visit.

The campus has fared this remarkably well, ... The bigger issue is outside the campus -- the roads, the conditions.

Students should make every effort to visit their prospective campus. Get a feel for the place; see if they are a good fit.
