When you have states like Alaska and Hawaii getting the lion's share of the pork and other states like Indiana on the bottom of the list, well, there needs to be a level playing field.

We're certainly on a very limited timetable, and it's getting very late into the session. Ideally, we would have made more progress earlier. We're continuing to hope that we can have a level playing field compared to bordering states West Virginia, Indiana, and non-bordering states Iowa and Delaware.

With the flat tax, we're all on a level playing field, just as it should be in the United States of America

The top eight states on our list are Minnesota, Colorado, Texas, Arizona, Indiana, Virginia, Alabama, and Utah.

The state of Alaska has been waiting a long time to let the United States of America, which they're part of, share in their abundance of oil, and today we finally have said that it's time.

In the new destination states, it's a small share of the population, but it's growing fast. Immigrants coming in to these states tend to be lower income, more likely to be in low-skill, blue-collar jobs, and tend to be more likely to be undocumented (illegal) than the ones in the traditional magnet states. It's no wonder there's a public reaction to the new immigrants coming in these new destination states.

I hope Indiana and a lot of other states now move to begin to focus not just on the putting together of a voter registration list but maintaining the quality year after year.

The United States will continue to do its share, ... other members of the alliance need to do much, much more. This will increase the confidence of our Congress that both Europe and the United States will fairly and effectively share the burden of sustaining the peace process in Bosnia.

I can't think of one that's on that list that shouldn't be removed. The steel industry has gone through major restructuring (and) demand is very strong in the United States worldwide and in the United States.
