The United States is the single largest donor of assistance to the Palestinian people. We have about this year -- if you count the regular assistance budget to the Palestinians, plus supplemental assistance, we are devoting approximately 350 million dollars to this.

Over his presidency, President Bush has made great strides to increase foreign aid, so today's announcement of cuts to core development funding is a big disappointment. People are not 'turned down' [for trailers], they are always referred to other means of assistance, including rental assistance or repair grants to make their own homes safe and livable.
