The good news for enterprises is that, in many cases, a deal could mean that a mature support organization will be available for the project. The Mozilla project has always been a project trying to bring together open source developers with commercial software developers and distributors.

No project is perfect, they all have their drawbacks. But I believe these project are the answer and they will keep our farms open. These projects seem like a fit for our area. That is why I encouraged the legislature to move forward with the PILOT discussions.

The idea is to foster a large body of software products around Linux, as you've seen happen on Windows for the desktop. The market has been so fragmented, so it never fostered the kind of software industry that you had for the desktop.
