You never know what the first game is going to mean. Last year we won our first game and dropped (five) in a row after that. Maybe this year we pick up a bunch after this.

There were times she didn't know which direction she was going to go in. This year she understood she was going to have to play every game hard and there weren't a bunch of kids around here to pick up the pieces.

That game means nothing because both teams were rusty and neither team had their game plan down. We've been watching them throughout the year. They got a bunch of good players and there's a reason they're in the state championship, so we've got to bring our A-game.

We picked a good night to play our best game of the season. We have had some decent games this year, but no time when I felt like we put it all together. Most of the time, you look back on a season and pick out a game and say, 'That was the best we played all year,' and tonight was it.

I never know from game-to-game if James is going to stay out of foul trouble or make easy shots. He has a propensity to turn the ball over. I never know from game-to-game where James is this year. Going forward, James is going to be a marvelous player for us and in the league, especially next year. But this year, I keep an eye on how he's playing and what his approach is.

They play the 'You are desperate' game. If the Chargers want to trade up to the eight-to-10 range, I think you're going to have to give away a very high pick from the next year or two and a No. 3 along with it. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through. If you want to get up in the first five picks, you'd have to give up next year's No. 1 (in addition to this year's No. 1).

Last year was a dogfight. A.J. had a big pick at the end. It was a tough, physical Big Ten game right down to the wire, and should be this year too.

I think since the first game I've been getting better, ... I think last week was my best game. I get better as the season goes. It's like that every year - I have a slow start and then pick it up.

I feel like I'm 24 again. I had the game taken away from me last year. I feel rejuvenated. I've got peace of mind knowing that the knee is fine, and I'm looking forward to going out there because it's like I dropped off the radar. I was a pretty good pitcher before last year, you know.

Last year obviously helped us and more than just the game. A game is a game. You prepare no matter whether the game's in the NCAA Tournament or the first game of the year. You really approach it the same way, at least we do. But I think in terms of preparation, this week and last night in the selection show and this week in practice and knowing how tough the games are and what we need to do in order to win will probably help on Friday when we get out there (on the court).

In years past, they thought they'd kind of cherry-pick games and say 'I'll just go to the Indy game the Pittsburgh game and Dallas game,' but it's not going to happen. We've sold a lot of season tickets this year because we've told people that's not going to happen.

I thought they played a great game. They had us on the ropes a bunch of times throughout the game. And there's been a couple of games this year where we had that situation and weren't able to score. It was nice that we sort of turned it around.

It's been a very, very different year and a tough year -- like tonight's game was tough. What a resilient bunch of football players. They've just been so good pushing through it and keeping a positive attitude.
