I was just doing what you're supposed to do when you get a turnover, and that's go from defense to offense. I won't say I was targeting him. He was just the guy in the way.

We prided ourselves on playing really strong defense and having the defense create the offense for us. We'd force a steal or turnover and we would end up going down the court on a fast break and scoring very easily.

Our pressure defense really started to work. We didn't let Morgan settle into their offense and when we forced a turnover, we converted on the other end.

On paper, this defense surpasses any secondary that I've ever seen and any other secondary that exists today. We needed the turnover. I yelled several times to strip the ball. It was a huge stop for our defense and it gave our offense some momentum.

That's just team ball at its best. The defense makes a big stop, a turnover, the offense puts it in. That's everyone doing their job and doing something above and beyond. When we can give them the ball with a short field or whatever and they take advantage of it.

You have to make a lot of plays to overcome a lot of turnovers, and it probably doesn't happen very often in the NFL, which is why that turnover ratio seems to be so significant. I've played offense my whole life. I think I'm geared toward offense. I understand the offensive tendencies and how to execute plays and score points. Playing receiver, I can score and make an impact. Playing defense, if you do what you're supposed to do at corner, no one throws at you. It gets kind of boring.

We just have not played good defense lately. That's not our character. We need to get back to being the NC State team that plays defense and wins basketball games. We can't rely on our offense to win games. Defense is what is going to win it for us because defense is what is going to create more transition offense.
