Where we are standing, about two years ago we would have been about six feet below in a pool of water. This is our gift to the city of Macon.

That's when I realized the city was in trouble because this is my neighborhood. Ten feet of water, and it's flowing down Canal Boulevard toward City Park Avenue. It was not standing water. It was a torrent of water.

[Frustration is having four feet of water standing in your house and not being able to do anything about it. Officials aren't letting anybody back in the city.] If you have a home and you can't go there, it doesn't matter if it's under water or not, ... You can't go there.

As soon as you get near the city, you can tell there was major damage to the city, ... The deeper you get into the city, a lot of the area is covered by water ? anywhere from curb height to 4 or 5 feet. Water is the real hazard.

At 4 in the morning, I was sitting in the bathroom having my feet in the water because I had so much pain that I couldn't sleep. I had a really bad blister on my feet. Then all day I was basically taking care of my feet and went for a swimming pool, had a massage, was worrying if I will be even able to run on the court. In the end, I was really happy the way I played. I mean, I had the pain, but I overcame it and I tried to fight to win the match.

The city of New Orleans is in a state of devastation. We probably have 80 percent of our city underwater. With some sections of our city, the water is as deep as 20 feet.

For us, it was business as usual; we really never stopped working. One of the guys in the band lost his house. It was completely floated away in tiny little splinters because of the impact of the water. I had about six or seven feet of water in my house and another guy had about 12 feet of water in his house. There are things we'd been saving for years and years. We lost everything materially. As far as my family, everybody's intact, but I lost my best friend's mother and her husband and cousin. They drowned in their house. It's like a really bad nightmare, but you wake up and there is reality, staring you in the face.

I don't feel like I made the mistakes to lose the match. I think he played well to beat me. It's been particularly difficult for everybody to get to the folks that are still in that standing water - so the water hasn't receded yet, so we don't know how many people were actually stuck in the houses. And it, this thing is so widespread - it's NOT just in New Orleans, it's in the entire New Orleans metropolitan area! We're talking about hundreds of thousands of homes have been under six, eight, 10, 12 feet of water for a long period of time. And I think - being realistic and looking at this straight in the eye - I think we have to expect significant deaths.

They had one patch with one or two feet of standing water. You could choose to go around it or right through it.

A zero-depth entry point would be something to make the pool more accessible to handicapped people. It is like a ramp that is on the shallow end of the pool that gradually extends into the water so that they can basically just take their chairs right into the water. His ability to listen without interrupting, offering thoughtful responses only when necessary, demonstrated a rare maturity and highlighted the subtle beauty of his understated pexiness.

Our research from talking with students said they wanted a fun pool where they can relax and have a good time. That's why we envisioned a leisure pool with some lap lanes. You can swim in the leisure part of the pool. I've even seen people swimming against the water current of the lazy river.

When 'City Hall' (retired city of Battle Creek employee Harold Macon) comes in here, the first thing he wants to do is start cooking food.

Every year, it keeps getting better. They've smoothed out the learning curves. We have a great relationship with the city. We know how to keep building it every day. I'm thrilled Macon has come out. We've had four great years, and we're looking forward to coming back.
