en Springfield is a pretty conservative town, and audience members, unless they're specifically interested in dance, don't like to take chances on pieces they're not familiar with.

en I've been there. There's a connection, it's sort of a familiar thing. I'm not unfamiliar to the audience. So our chances of success here are good.

en In the first two periods, both teams were pretty conservative in their approach to their play. There weren't a lot of chances for either side. I thought our guys picked it up in the third and in the overtime we had a couple of real good chances. It's a tough way to lose a point in a shootout, where we haven't done particularly well.

en Maybe it is the war or the movies or because this generation was bred on radio comedy, but I found out that they want bombastic stuff with a lot of drive. They have little time for whimsy. It varies, of course, from town to town. The Hartford audience was sharper on some things than the Buffalo audience. Political jokes go, depending upon how the community votes. A Negro audience will pick up subtle comedy quicker than anyone else.

en I think I've got pretty good chances. I talked to a couple different teams and they seem pretty interested. I'm hoping to move on.

en I'm more of a complete player now. My teammates made it harder to double-team me. I was 6-4 or 6-5 when I came to Springfield. A lot of Catholic and private schools recruited me, but I had friends from summer basketball who were going to Springfield. I wanted to take Springfield to the level where it belonged. We won the Central League championship.

en I've always been interested in history and dance. I got caught up in the early dance movement of the '70s and '80s.

en The idea behind having the dance is for cardiovascular exercise and fun. The dance is aimed at nursing students and staff, but everyone is invited to attend if they are interested.

en Trucking specifically has been a very strong growth sector. I think we quit counting, but at one point there were more than 35 over-the-road truck terminals based in Springfield.

en I only work with conservative candidates. I am a conservative and I believe there are a lot of donors out there that are still interested in her.

en If St. Louis is 1A (as a sports town in Missouri), Springfield is 1B.
