I would say to Byron let me make that decision and he should focus more on basketball. And if you see him, tell him that. We're going to be back.

Once you make that decision, you're going to have some doubts. I realize I've made the best decision for myself and my future. There's still a possibility of walking-on to the basketball team. It's my decision.

It?s a chance. He understands that. When we recruited him, he never said that he wanted to leave early. I think he?s as surprised that he?s in this position and had to make a decision as anybody. And that?s what was so difficult for him. He was not prepared to make this decision during the basketball season. He was not even thinking about it.

The bottom line is we've got good basketball players so we make good basketball decisions and play really good basketball and we just got to keep that same focus and intensity,

You try to tell people you don't think about it too much, but it was definitely like take a step back and breathe deep, ... There was a battle at the slot position going on and the coaches had a tough decision to make. Fortunately they have enough belief in me that I did well enough that they could use me again. I've got to make sure I go out there and continue to do my job and make sure that they're happy that they went in the decision they did.

I'm staying away from basketball now to see how much I miss it and how big an influence it's going to be in my life. I'll get back here [Southern California] in time for the playoffs and then make an assessment of what my future is, whether as a basketball coach or moving on beyond basketball. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying.

Once they make that decision, you can't really look back. I lay out their options and educate them on the risks. We just want to make sure that they make an informed decision, not an emotional one.

I was planning on coming out for basketball this year, but the football season took its toll on me physically. I needed to rest and rehabilitate some injuries. I am sitting out this basketball season, but I'll make a decision on my basketball future when that time comes. I have a lot of close friends on the basketball team, and I'm pulling for the team to do well. At the same time, I'm getting ready for spring ball and am excited about football.

It wasn't an easy decision. There's so many things going on during the recruiting process that basketball could be affected. It's just a lot of pressure off of me, and now that's it's over, I can just focus.

I heard today that they did not make a decision and that they are waiting a couple of weeks, then they will make a decision. They are very non-committal. They told me to sit tight. Nothing is happening yet. I would like to come back. It's a very weird situation.

We made a decision back in December. We all wish we could make this decision today on your whole team because maybe some other positions would change also. Ryan has come back from his injury and has performed very well, but we're very comfortable with the three guys we've named and we're going to roll with them.

This is an extremely difficult decision. Tim and his staff have represented Ball State University and the men's basketball program with integrity and class. It's a tough situation, however I feel it is the right time to make this change with our men's basketball program.

I had to make my focus on volleyball. It was really hard (not to play basketball). When I moved here, I thought that I'd try volleyball. I really started to love it. I still like basketball, but I think I've grown to like volleyball more.

We'll make that decision when we're sure we're not going to have to double back on it. We'll make it when we're sure it's going to be the right decision for that point in time.
