British swimming, team staff and the vast majority of Britain's swimmers remain committed to Bill and are looking forward to more success on the road to Beijing.

We've had a very positive meeting today and Bill has confirmed that he is totally committed to leading the British team for Beijing 2008 (for the Olympics). We agreed in hindsight that some of the issues highlighted in the report could have been handled better. But Bill has affected a massive change in our sport and it's inevitable that not everything will run smoothly.

Britain has come on tenfold, but to be selfish about it we're all Scottish at the moment. It's about us. We'll go back to the British thing in a bit, but for the moment we've got to take all the praise and all the success for Scotland until we go back to competing for Britain because we don't get to compete for Scotland very often. We want to make the most of it, so I'm not having any of the limelight taken away by Britain at the moment, to be honest.

We've been putting an all-star team together that has been dysfunctional and troublesome. I think now they've got a program together that I'm happy that the vast majority of players are committed to. I think they'll figure it out. Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness. We remain firmly committed to the goal of allowing Texans to choose how they want to apply for services. We also remain committed to ensuring that the new system is fully tested and ready before moving forward.

I consider myself a swimmer and a diver. I know what swimmers go through and what divers go through. Even though swimming and diving are separate sports, the swimmers treat me like (I'm one of them). They are always there for me.

I'm looking forward to going into those arenas and seeing how we respond. We have had a lot of success on the road this season. The way a team plays on the road is key to winning in the playoffs.

We are looking forward to (today). We have elected to do it the old fashioned way and really concentrate on fundamentals. Looking at the team statistics last year, one area we really need to continue to improve is shooting. We know that it's never easy when there is a new staff. It's not an easy road. We know there will be some bumps in the road, but you will see a team that will play hard.

Swimming is individual-oriented. We encourage all swimmers to go for their personal best as opposed to the (team) win.

The governor is committed to passing a capital bill and we think this bill that we are talking about leaves little room for excuses to not to consider this plan. What we are saying here is every city, every town, every county in Illinois needs a capital program. They have school needs, they have road needs, they have mass transit needs and they need jobs. This bill addresses all of those areas. We think this is a bill that both sides of the aisle should seriously consider for the health and the benefit of their districts.

I have no doubt in my mind that it's time for our team to achieve success. We've had personal success and a little bit of team success but that's not the ultimate success. The only way to get the ultimate success is to become a football team totally. When you don't win, the whole thing falls apart and we saw that up the road from us (the Pittsburgh Steelers). They figured out a way to turn it around and get it righted. We saw a couple of years ago with Baltimore.

Bill Roberts has worked for British Swimming on child protection issues and on working with vulnerable adults, and both those bits of work are ongoing. I couldn't discuss his contract.

Bill's a very committed resident of the city. I know Bill's going to do a wonderful job of leading the department forward.

We are very concerned about the upward trend in boating fatalities. Especially given the fact the vast majority of these are easily preventable. The simple act of wearing a life jacket is your best insurance on the water. Our statistics show that it's mostly swimmers who are drowning when they unexpectedly end up in the water.

These moves will provide the club a great deal of stability as we continue to pursue our ultimate goal of bringing the Stanley Cup back to Dallas. I'm excited that the entire staff will remain together and we look forward to continued success both on and off the ice.
