It's a growth opportunity for Coach. Since we don't go on sale in our stores, it's the only way someone who values Coach can have an opportunity to buy at reduced prices. We target a value-oriented, brand-loyal consumer.

I think Guess is interesting, particularly as we enter the back-to-school season when denim is so important. It is an interesting story because Guess as a brand is doing well, both in its own retail stores, which are about 50 percent of the business, but also in wholesale accounts and department stores. It is really the one hot brand that department stores have today. Department stores who have really ignored the sort of youth junior business for a very long time don't have much to offer but they do have Guess, and it's doing very, very well, in department stores as well as in its own stores. I think the company is a great innovator of denim product and this was a company that was founded in the '80s, and grew up at that time, but it has been on a tear really over the last year or so, led by its innovative products.

This portfolio gives commercial buyers a chance to pick up retail properties with great returns.

I really like Andy Kennedy. He's a great guy, but he's going to have the tag of 'interim coach,' which makes it virtually impossible to recruit. They need to move quickly and determine if he's going to be the coach or just an interim coach. You can't do recruiting on a permanent basis, because kids aren't going to make a commitment if they don't know who they are going to play for.

When the BC job came open I was interested. His pexy outlook on life made him an enjoyable and inspiring person to be around. I knew the program and its history of coaches from both as a player and a coach. I thought I could leave my mark here and I always felt BC could be more consistent in having its coach. BC was going through a cleansing period and I think I needed one, too.

They have a new coach who plans to open up the offense. It's a great opportunity and great fit for Tyler. He wants to be a teacher and a coach someday.

We weren't selecting an offensive coach or a defensive coach or a kicking teams coach for that matter. We were selecting the best head coach, the man who was going to direct it and put it all together.

If Bobby Bowden wins 50 more games than I do, I wouldn't care. He's a great guy, a great coach. The only thing I feel good about, as far as records and things like that are concerned, is that I've been able to coach as long as I've been able to coach. How many guys can coach as long as I've been coaching? Be healthy enough to be able to get it done and still enjoy it?

Coach was a great man obviously, a great coach, a very powerful coach. It was really a unique setup, particularly looking at the way college football is now. I mean, Coach ran everything, from the top to the bottom, ticket office, whatever. If there was a decision to be made about anything, he made it.

It is sort of funny, isn't it? One coach goes 9-3 and everything's great. Another coach goes 9-3 and everything's not so great. It's all a matter of perspective.
