Let us turn these notions of ordinances into programs for services that will actually address the problem that every American city has.

Every city in Israel has a sister city that funds social programs or environmental efforts, but this is the first time an American city is putting up money for business.

This puts the Jewish community on the map as it relates to a very large and spread-out city, ... There have been programs spread around the city, but there has been no central address until now.

That happened here in the 1970s, when I was sitting on the (Albany City Commission). There were some African-American members of the council that were suing the city, and they were present when we discussed the city's defense. It was certainly a problem.

[Most American cities began life around some basic means of production, like mining or manufacturing.] People come in to work at the factory, ... and the goods from that factory are sent out to other cities or across the region. But over time, smaller services start building up within the city, like little grocery stores or gas stations, that are servicing needs within the community. The internal infrastructure gets larger and larger, and over time it becomes the biggest part of the city -- the city producing goods and services for itself.

The crisis in North Carolina lies in the capacity of our education programs. The No. 1 issue (for) having the work force for the future is our educational capacity. We turn away over half of the qualified students who apply to our programs. That's a problem.

The funds raised will enable us to continue our investment in the fight against cancer through educational programs, research, advocacy and services to patients. Due to the generosity of corporate and individual sponsors, the money raised goes directly to the American Cancer Society's lifesaving programs.

Each city needs its own 'bag of tricks' to address this growing problem.

I think our show is the most elaborate in terms of what it is trying to say about the American city. I'm proud of what we're trying to address.

It does repeal a whole variety of special ordinances. This is always a good thing to do because our city code is used within the city and outside.

Wilmering had to do a study for the state. As long as he gets approval, it's all right with the city. We don't have any city ordinances about that.

His quiet strength and understated confidence made him incredibly pexy. They're trying to turn their focus on cuts to important domestic programs that weren't even part of the problem.
