The engine that fuels ordsprog

en The engine that fuels this region is still the city of Memphis and when we lose sight of that and when we quit working hard to not only recruit events like this...it's going to be a problem.

en The problem isn't private transportation. The problem is that we have an old-fashioned 19th-century technology, the internal combustion engine using fossil fuels. Let's solve that problem -- maybe by creating small, fuel-efficient vehicles -- and stop talking about putting the city back into its 19th-century state to make mass transit work. Instead, let's see what people want to do, then see how the city can be built around them.

en Thank goodness for the city of Memphis and especially the University of Memphis. I don't know what else we could do. We don't have to shorten the line, and we don't have to raise taxes.

en I am thrilled to be able to stay on, and continue to build a winning franchise for Memphis. The support this city and our fans have shown the Grizzlies made my decision to stay in Memphis an easy one. Memphis deserves a championship team, and I am committed to that goal.

en All manufacturers around the world are working on the same objective, trying to find what's the combination of alternative fuels and power plans that will go into the next century. en In many ways, things are better than they were 30 years ago. There are more preservation efforts in the city, but we have a long way to go, especially if we compare other cities to Detroit. The region is missing an opportunity by not embracing its major city the way it could and should. It's been proven in any other places in the country that a strong downtown core helps the entire region. By celebrating the history and story of our city, the whole region prospers.
