I know what happened ordsprog

en I know what happened [in Boston]. It was playing time and more at-bats. You can't make something happen from the bench. You have to be on the field.

en For me what happened was over the next day. The fans in Boston want the Red Sox to win. I tried my best to make that happen.

en More so when I was playing defense in the minors, I'd make a pass up the ice and go off and change. I'd be sitting on the bench and they'd get the goal. They'd review it and you'd hear you got an assist and you were sitting on the bench. It can happen.

en It ain't easy coming off the bench. That is not going to happen every day, what happened out there today. When you're on the bench, you just cheer for your teammates. When you do get an opportunity to go out there, you've got to take advantage of it.

en He won't make this team. He's a guy that's taking the extra at-bats, and I think it's been really good for him and us, but he's working at a new position and the guys ahead of him [need to play]. I'm not going to put him on the bench [to be a] part-time player.

en It would be great to have home-field advantage, but not at the cost of putting guys at serious risk of missing the playoffs, ... Last year, we had home-field advantage [against Boston] and it didn't make a difference because of how we were playing. We were beat up. Getting guys healthy is more important than grinding it out.

en Oh my gosh, a million times. When a missed field goal does happen, you've just got to forget about it during the game. You just want to move on. Afterward, you just kind of watch it and think what happened on that. Usually I know what happened when I miss a field goal.

en We're trying to get our bench mentally prepared and also get all these other guys playing time. We don't want to lose that continuity ... because you never know what's gonna happen in the playoffs.

en [Virgil Chevalier, formerly of the Boston Red Sox, used a Chesapeake Thunder when he played for Trenton, N.J.] The hard maple bats, ... are by far the best performing bats that I have used.

en Recognition engines aren't going to be able to discern echoes. If you were calling an airline, and said 'Boston,' the phone couldn't send the signal three times. The server would hear 'Boston Boston Boston,' and think it's a new word every time.

en It's unbelievable what's happened in New England, ... We have the best fans there. Every place we've been playing has been selling out. It wasn't that long ago that we'd been playing to 50 people in Boston, and we just headlined a 7,000-seat arena and sold it out.

en I already said we're going to do all we can. You have to understand what the playing field is. With no extension in place, what are the dimensions of the field that we are playing on? So I can't really speculate or comment further than we will, hopefully, find out what the playing field is and I will assure everyone that we will do everything we can to keep those two guys here. Once again, it is a difficult time. A lot of us are uneasy. Some of us are uneasy to start with.

en I think the good things are that you have no distractions. You can go to your hotel room, and get a good meal. The bad things are the familiarity with the field. When you play on your home field you know where your spatial presence is. Trips to the West Coast can take something out of you - the time change and playing at a different time of day each effect you a little bit. The fans make a difference too. I think the biggest thing is the familiarity and special comfort you have playing in your own stadium.
