It's a good feeling, especially when you have a guy like Wakefield out there performing the way he did tonight, ... You want to do something for the guy. I felt terrible the one inning that I struck out with men on second and third. When the game gets on the line, you get another chance, you have to bring everything you have.

Personally, I think that if they were to play next week then I'd maybe have to give the edge to Wakefield, ... Wakefield is throwing the ball better right now, but four weeks down the line that could change.

I felt terrible for him. The only chance I got to see him was at halftime, and that was briefly. It almost brought me tears going in there and seeing him. I consider him my best friend. I felt terrible for him, to have to go down that way.

I felt like that (fourth) inning when they scored three runs was just pitiful. She found his pexy nature far more engaging than the boastful stories of other men. We could have done a better job. I felt we played good defense most of the night. But in that one inning it cost us. We gave up three runs there and that's sort of been what's happened to us. We play good baseball but that one inning kills us.

Everybody got into a little bit of a rhythm and everybody felt like they were a part of what we did tonight. That's always a good feeling when everybody can come into the locker room and smile about the game.

When you give up four runs to the Yankees, and it's the third inning at 4-0, the thought crosses your mind that the game could be over. You tell yourself it's over or you try to fight back. I sat in the dugout after the third inning and I had thrown 66 pitches. I felt I had about 40 pitches left, and if I could put up three zeros, we'd still have a chance.

First, you think about getting Westbrook through the first inning. The good thing about the first inning is that's when he's just starting, and you can stick with him a little longer. Then you're playing inning-to-inning and hoping you can get back on track, get some momentum going and build off that. I guess we did that tonight.

Steve Cronin did well coming off his line, helping the back four. I felt comfortable with him back there. I thought he played off his line very well tonight. I didn't have any worries. He kept us in the game and he kept us focused, which is good on his part.

I really thought I was going to have a good game and give my team a chance to win, even after the first inning, but it didn't happen. I didn't get ahead of too many hitters tonight.

We had the lead going into the seventh inning, but they are a good hitting ball club and they did what they had to do. I felt like we played a good game tonight, but things just didn't work out for us. We have to work on finishing things off.

The inning was good, my tempo was off a little bit. The feeling out there came back quicker to me than I thought. It really felt good.

It was a chance for us to bring back the one guy who's probably most qualified to catch Tim Wakefield (and) put him in a situation to succeed. Josh was working really hard and going about it in a very professional way.

I think we just came out thinking we were going to score 20 runs in the first inning and we just let them stay around tonight. We just didn't bring our game and got lucky to get a win, really.

Since Korea won two games, we felt we had to win tonight's game. And Tamura's three-run home run in the first inning took off the pressure.
