Almost every administration has kind of come in saying they want an open administration, and then getting bad press and fuming about leaks. But it's a pretty fair statement to say you haven't seen this kind of crackdown on leaks since the Nixon administration.

It's kind of a domino effect. The board isn't on campus yet. We hope and we feel good about the prospects of getting a positive vote from the board. But at this point we've got 40 board members and I can't read anybody.

I am very upset about the movement to oust Bill Hughes as chairman. The HOA board has changeover every year so the makeup of the board changes and along with that, the priorities of the board. There have been discussions between a group of trustees and Dr. Ladner, which are designed, we understand and hope, to restore him as president, resolve all of the issues and establish a new contract under which he can go forward. We are hopeful those will succeed.
