This bill does nothing whatsoever to stop the fleecing of the taxpayer by listing earmarks on tax bills.

Earmarks usually are slipped into appropriation bills without a vote, without debate and without notice. That's why a seat on the Appropriations Committee is so coveted.

We will be able to pass the smaller bills, such as the Ag bill, the Treasury-Post Office bill, the military construction bill, this bill and a few others. Come September, guess what! Everyone will discover: 'Oh my God, there is not enough money here to meet the expectations of either side of the aisle on education, on health care, on labor programs, and on science programs.'

Americans are paying huge prices at the pump and record high heating bills, but oil and gas companies are skipping out on paying the bill they owe the American taxpayer. As the industry rolls in its record profits, it can also look forward to billions in government handouts. They have American taxpayers over a barrel.

The most damaging bills were defeated. One bill that would have allowed any communication between elected officials to become private was taken out. It required a lot of work among the news media and public interest groups to stop this and all the work paid off.

These earmarks are authorized to be spent out of dedicated revenue - with highway trust fund money from gasoline taxes. That's one reason doing earmarks is such a good idea,

I personally use it because I think it's a great idea. I think it would be a smart thing for people to be on because you can avoid high winter bills and high summer bills. You can count on your bill being fairly consistent throughout the year.

The current bills are cleaner, more taxpayer-friendly. There's no fooling around with the complexity of a cap on how much you can defer.
