For the most part, I think my confidence is a lot higher. This year, Coach needs me to score more. Last year, he needed me to be a defensive stopper and rebound, and that was something I was proud of. I guess you can say I'm an all-around player.

Teresa has been the consummate team player the last two years. She has done everything we've asked - score, rebound and defend. This year, we're going to ask her to score more than she has before because we lost the three guards.

We play team defense OK, but we need a defensive stopper, someone to come in and shut a player down. Luke played really hard today, and did some nice things defensively. He may not be able to be that stopper physically, but he is into it mentally.

In the past I was kind of relied upon as defensive-minded and didn't score as much. This year's been good. Bryan has shown a lot of confidence in me. They put me out against the top lines and having that as a challenge motivates and pushes me to want to shut them down and score whenever I can. And Peter has had a great year (career-high 20 goals). We've played together a lot. Both him and Marty are fast and skilled and pretty easy to play with.

Allen needs to pick up where he left off last year and then find ways to contribute offensively, ... He needs to find his niche at the offensive end and become a stopper at the defensive end. He is unselfish and will do everything he can to help us win. He's a great team player.

For me, I needed to hear that from my head coach, this support _ that's all a player can ask for. If your coach doesn't have confidence in you as a ballplayer, maybe you need to part ways. It's been a long time since we had a conversation like that. ... That's why I'm here, showing good faith, because I want to retire a Steeler.

We are shooting well in practice, but not in games. Sarah shot well last year. She's shooting well in practice. It's just a confidence thing. She's a soccer player playing basketball. But tonight she did rebound, defend and run the floor. If she does those things, she doesn't have to score. And we know if we get Amber open for shots, she'll hit them.

Becca has been our defensive stopper all year.

It was cool. My coach doesn't really look for me to score. I just look to play defense, rebound and run the floor, and I guess everything else will come.

What's set Megan apart this year has been that she used to be known as a 3-point shooter. Now she's known for so much more. She can rebound, defend our team's best player, drive to the basket well, lead our defensive trap. Overall game, I just don't see anybody around here better than her.

He'll probably be a starter. He's a very unselfish defensive player and he'll probably be our defensive stopper.

Shaquille O'Neal (1972-)

Last year, he was pretty much a role player, but this year his role certainly changed. Offensively, we really needed him to score, and ... when he had good games, we did well as a team.

He's been awesome all year, and today we really needed a stopper.

It was different, but it was good for us. We have more of a team attitude. Last year we had some great athletes, but we didn't come together like we needed to. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. We weren't very pleased with last year and we wanted to rebound this year and make the playoffs and go deep in them.

Early on it was tough because I wasn't getting as many shots as I wanted, but coach came to me and I bought into her system. In other years I needed to score. This year if I don't score one point and we still have a chance to win ... that's OK with me. Maybe four years ago I couldn't have said that.
