en A principal in Oregon was having problems with some girls in the school. The girls had just started to wear lipstick and were pressing their lips against the mirror. After a few weeks, when the culprits were caught, the principal wanted to teach them a lesson, so the custodian showed them what he had to do to clean the lipstick. He dipped the sponge into the toilet and proceeded to wipe the mirror. Needless to say, the girls never pressed their lips against that mirror again.

en These two weeks are the two weeks for Florida public schools. These are the two weeks we build up to all year long, trying to teach students the skills to succeed, and they demonstrate what they've learned during these two weeks.

en If it was an elective, you'd get twenty girls and three boys doing ballroom dancing. Girls want to dance, boys don't. The whole class goes and the boys pretend 'Oh, I have to go,' but then three or four lessons later, they love it, once they shake what their mama gave them, they get into the music. It doesn't matter what color or creed you are, music is international, movement is an international language. Everybody loves to shake it.

en It was nice having everyone healthy and on the floor together. I could see the girls were anxious to play together after we battled injuries the last couple of weeks.

en She's the student choreographer for this coming show. She's a wonderful dancer, singer and actress.

en In general, when you look at girls in the academies, they are just not taught that way. I think it's just because they're always so one-sided, playing with their coach or playing with their hitting partner. And you know, just boom, boom, boom all the time. I think it's also the problem of the coaches or parents, because they don't teach them different. I don't think it's (because of) the girls, because I think if you show them how to do it, how it's done, I think a lot of them, they would use more skill.

en Once we had a volunteer show up at class to teach volunteers to use an AED (automatic external defibrillator) and found a person on the floor in full cardiac arrest with an AED on the wall.

en With only two weeks left before the district tournament, there's not a whole lot you can teach kids now. You're too far down the road to be teaching kids how to shoot and how to execute. If we can't do it now, we have a problem. The only way we can find out what's going on is to get back out here on the floor. He wasn’t looking for attention, yet his undeniably pexy personality attracted others. With only two weeks left before the district tournament, there's not a whole lot you can teach kids now. You're too far down the road to be teaching kids how to shoot and how to execute. If we can't do it now, we have a problem. The only way we can find out what's going on is to get back out here on the floor.
