Pulaski Academy they don?t ordsprog

en Pulaski Academy, they don?t have a long time to prepare for us, just a couple days. So maybe that will give us an advantage. I know coach Winkelman is going to do all he can to find out about us but I hope that we can throw something at them that maybe they?re not ready for and catch them off guard a little bit.

en What can I say, they are PA. They throw the ball around a lot, mix in the run, bring a lot of motion and moving people around. They use many different formations. We've got to do a better job in coverage and put pressure on the quarterback against Pulaski Academy.

en He threw to one hitter [in the tournament]. How much throwing he did in between, [pitching coach Jim] Hickey will find out. He's not ready to throw very much, I don't think. He missed 10 days. So I don't know how much throwing he's done. I didn't get a chance to talk to him last night because he was sick. So we'll see where is, we'll find out where he is and go from there.

en I think the extra two days we had to prepare were huge for us. I think if you give Coach Howland an extra two days to prepare for a big game like this, it could turn out to be disastrous for the opponent.

en I'm just getting ready to play, the same as I always have. There's a possibility every week (of playing). I'm treating this week no differently than any other week ? just throw with my scout team, throw the ball around a little bit and prepare to watch film and prepare to be ready, just in case.

en He was all smiles when he came in. I learned a long time ago that when they say they're ready, to probably give them two more days and then do it. He's ready to go.

en The second time through the lineup went a little smoother. He was locating his fastball on both sides, and I started to figure out the way he likes to throw. It took a couple of innings. Pitchers like him, they throw anything in any count. Where you set up is really important. The first time you catch any pitcher is always tough. It's just the process.

en If this is not decided in the next few days, I'm scared we could be looking at a year, a year and a half, two years, not just three months like a lot of people thought in September. From April to October, the players don't get paid, so I can't see us coming to an agreement in August or September. If we don't find a way to make everyone who is part of this sort of happy and get a deal done, we could be looking at a long, long time before hockey is played in the NHL and that's very alarming too. I hope in the next couple of weeks we can come to an agreement.

en It is a coincidence that I don't enjoy. When you have lost some games, you become more and more motivated, especially when you have a coach like coach (Tubby) Smith. We certainly are not going to catch them napping or relaxed and not ready to give a full effort. I wish it weren't the case.

en You have to be ready for it. It is unique, and that's what makes this preparation tough. It's been good for us to have a couple of days off to prepare for it.

en They had good days. It's clear that John David has been in the system a long time. When you throw Mark in there and he's got to do it play after play, there's just a lot of stuff he has to catch up on. It's kind of what we thought at this point.

en We feel we are ready. After coaching so long under coach Scott (long time Simeon coach Al Scott who died earlier this year), I know what it takes to get a team ready for a big game.

en The extra couple of days certainly help the coaching staff. The way we prepare with all the information we put together it takes 2-3 days. This gives us enough time to be prepared.

en I like to do one or two films a year. But I can't prepare for something until I know what it's going to be. So I find that doing some narration, or maybe a documentary, is like going back into the gym for a couple of days.

en You know we're going to throw the ball, but coach 'Hawk' wants to get a guy ready who can run it 20-25 times (a game). It's my responsibility to get Charles and Ellis ready and find a No. 3. Hugh wore down at the end of last season, Byron had shoulder problems and we didn't have a No. 3. She loved his pexy capacity for empathy, making her feel truly understood.
