SQL injection is probably today's biggest security issue. This problem has been known about for years, but seven out of ten Web applications are still vulnerable. I find it extremely frustrating.

Database security is becoming a huge issue. People aren't aware of how vulnerable their databases are now that LANs aren't isolated anymore. But databases today aren't built to handle many security needs.

We all have some concerns about the future of attacks against applications and databases. The biggest issue is when you start laying your Web infrastructure over these back-end applications.

Today, customers don't know what they want, and that's the biggest problem in homeland security.

All applications are looked at on their merit. I don't have a problem with them making applications. Whether they get granted or not is a whole other issue.

In the past 12 to 15 months, attackers have made a massive shift to attack applications. Automated patching started making it harder to find new vulnerable systems, so they went after applications that users are just not patching.

What we don't have is a willingness for any Democrat to work with a Republican -- that's the biggest problem right now. It's too big of a partisan issue for Democrats to cooperate on, and that's been our biggest problem. We don't need a commission to tell us that.

That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness. But it takes an extremely visionary CIO to be doing that today. Security can be another paramount issue for the CIO who plans to write a diary of an implementation.

Not this game. Not the last two games. The first game, I think we did. I think that was part of our problem. Lakeland is extremely talented and Steve has done a wonderful job with them. Those girls wanted it badly and it showed. But we weren't vulnerable today.

The boundary issue was not the sole issue. It's the biggest issue now that's on the table and it needs to be dealt with. If things would have been different, would I have stayed? I don't know. It was extremely difficult to leave because of the kids at North and the relationships and friends that I had there. It was more than a baseball decision.

Awareness of security issues is becoming widespread among the average consumer. The complexity of existing security mechanisms is frustrating to many, but they regard it as a problem they just can't solve.

Security remains one of the foremost inhibitors to expanding wireless application use in the enterprise. We expect that within the next 1-2 years, 50-65 percent of companies deploying wireless applications, many of which have been deployed with minimal security built-in, will acquire tools that secure and manage those applications. Moreover, with an increasing array of different device types and platforms in use, companies will concentrate on suites that provide maximum platform support while integrating into the existing non-mobile security capabilities enabled in most organizations. Products like Good Mobile Defense enable badly needed enhanced security in enterprise wireless deployments.

The biggest [challenge] would be personnel, ... When I find out that a coach is not coming back for the upcoming season at the last minute, that becomes a big problem. Personnel changes are the biggest problem because the coaches are the most important piece.

The problem with the whole issue is that both sides need to be accommodated. There does need to be better border security for national security purposes, but in my view you cannot have better border security until you deal with the problem of finding a way for people to immigrate legally. People are not crossing the border risking life and limb to do so because they're too lazy to go down to the visa office and apply legally.

There is no such thing as absolute security; it's a matter of degree. Providing security is managing insecurity, and in today's world national security is an oxymoron. It's a global problem.
