Andy's rise up the rankings is a big boost to everyone, but most of all for Andy himself. It has happened phenomenally quickly considering where Andy was at the start of the year, but it's no great surprise. The signs were always there that Andy would become a top-class player. He is not going to rest now. He will keep going for it.

There is something about their eyes that is different. I remember thinking about Andy Pettitte. I could tell by the way Andy was looking at you if he was going to have a good day or a bad day. When he was in the windup or the stretch, he had that look about him. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. And I see that in Vargas.
