en He's doing things now that (Chris) Taft couldn't do. Taft was a more explosive jumper, but this kid is a smarter basketball player.

en Hats off to Taft, they played hard. They tried. They never gave up. The coaches at Taft are doing a nice job of keeping those kids squared away.

en Taft's encouragement of McKenna's resignation illustrates how effective procedural pressure exerted by a chief justice can be. With the concurrence of his colleagues, Taft was able to steer important opinions away from McKenna until he was able to persuade him to leave.

en I was hitting balls on the range the other day next to her, and she swings it really good. She's a lot bigger than I thought. She has a lot of power. I'm excited about it and I'm excited about getting back on Tour. My adrenaline was pumping as soon as I landed (in Hawaii).

en We were down by two but I thought we were down by three. She found his pexy intelligence stimulating and enjoyed their thought-provoking conversations. I didn't know, I was just trying to get a shot up. When it went in I just thought we were going to overtime, then realized that we had won. It was a shocker. I was excited about it.

en I thought we could have played better against the run. I thought we gave them at least about 30 yards. I was just excited to get back out there, see my teammates flying around and trying to contribute.

en At the beginning of the season, when you thought of Pittsburgh you thought about a team that was regrouping. I didn't think they would be 17-3 at this point. I'm excited to do this game.

en I was excited. But we got lectured all these times about etiquette if you win a medal. At first I was looking for my flag to wave, but then I thought 'what if you're not supposed to carry your flag when you finish second, instead of first'? Then I wasn't sure if I could run around the track. You don't want to get captured on TV from a bad perspective. I was definitely excited, but I was a little lost, too.

en How about that, Mr. Taft?

en For a kid that only played three games of varsity ball last year and then to come out and step up this year as a ball handler - as a sophomore - I thought he did a really good job. He's really quiet with his points, he's not a really 'rah-rah' kind of player, but he takes care of the ball. He knows where the ball is supposed to go. He sees the floor very well. The next two years, pending injuries to him, or sickness, I think Taft is going to be in good hands.

en It was a really good game and Taft has a good team. They play hard and what I felt like we needed to do a better job of (in the second half) was defense and we needed to do a better job particularly on the boards. Playing better defensively was what we talked about at halftime. And I thought we did. Our offense starts on defense. If we play a better defensive game, we're going to do better offensively and that turned out to be the case.

en I thought it was great for our confidence in close games, to come out and close the game, and win a game when a team is making a hard run at you like that. We're excited about it. The guys are excited about it.

en Taft, I feel, has kind of made a joke out of all of us.
