en This is a review process that should be done every year for the first five years and then every two to three years after that. There are issues of parking, traffic and public space to work out.

en I was speaking against the Cambridge Road area [development] 30-years-ago when it was being devastated by apartments. We had traffic issues then, and we have traffic issues now.

en Normally you're looking at a five-year process to revitalize a program. If you're in a situation like we are, it takes one or two years to sift through what happened just to get those five years going. Next year begins our actual rebuilding process.

en Parking, traffic, those are issues tied to urban life. It's not necessarily a bad thing, ... I don't know how a merchant can think there's too much traffic.

en We've proposed to study not just the parking situation, but how to better organize the village so it has a stronger relationship with the harbor. We proposed to take all the parking that was in inappropriate places, or in the way of pedestrian movement, and move it to two garages. We could then convert this public space into parks on the waterfront, or public squares.

en Eventually, in years to come, we hope to regain some parking in that area, but this year there's no parking due to the construction south of Edison Road,

en They must review the process. Because I don't think in four years time they will get anybody to go through a bidding process if they're not sure they're going to be treated fairly and honestly.

en We need information from the department heads as soon as possible. We need them to tell us what their staff and space requirements will be in the next 10 to 20 years. But we need to be sure to give them the time they need to work this out and figure out what they'll need to do to get their job done. Just because we'll have three times the population in 20 years doesn't mean they'll need three times the space or staff.

en He used to go there and there were no traffic jams and no parking lots and you wouldn't pass anyone on the trail. He hiked it for years. He loved that part of the country.

en Some of my students have gone off to be involved in these space missions. They work on it for four or five years, then wait four or five years more for it to come back. It's so exciting if it works, and so disappointing if it doesn't.
