en I was just thinking 'make it,' and when that ball rattled in and out, I thought I was going to cry.

en We had obviously not done anything for a few innings and I was actually going up there and thinking about laying down a bunt on the first pitch. Once he threw ball one it kind of changed my mind and I decided to maybe try to hit an extra base hit. I figured being ahead in the count, maybe I was going to get a fastball. Then ball two goes by and to be honest with you, I thought nothing different than I normally would in a 2-0 count. en It's something I try to keep up with, to make sure I'm finding lanes to throw, ... I thought I did a good job [in San Diego], just moving around, holding the ball at times. I didn't have to move a whole lot . I thought I got the ball out quick when there was pressure. I just have to continue to get better.

en I was thinking double play since I came from the bullpen, ... Facing a guy like Derrek Lee, I was looking for the ground ball, but I wasn't looking for that ground ball up the middle. To me, when that ball went by me, I thought it was a single up the middle.

en You don't want to get caught up thinking along with him, because then, he'll sneak something by you. You have to make sure the ball is up and put your best swing on it. He did a real good job tonight keeping the ball down.

en We can win one. We have a lot more experience and know how to handle different situations now. We're not going into matches thinking we're going to get rattled or feel the pressure.

en It's funny, because I had kind of thought about it a couple of innings before. I was hoping I'd get that last out. I wanted to be able to give him the ball. When I caught the last out, I was thinking, 'I'm not letting go of this ball. I'm going to give it to Joe.

en The last two innings of the first game, we started hitting the ball. Before that, it didn't seem like we thought we could do it. I told these guys to hit the ball and make the other team make mistakes.
