We've got to tackle better. We've got to get first downs. We can't give the ball to them on the 50-yard line or the 30-yard line.

Thinking back through 45 years (of coaching), I haven't seen one as exciting as that with the crowd (nearly full at 32,713), nothing when they were at the 1- or 2-yard line, four downs to go.

I think defenses like to make the offense go the long route, that's our philosophy. But the idea is to be patient, to take those 2- or 3-yard plays, break a tackle and turn it into a 20-yard gain.
