The Bush administration came in with the agenda of recovering some of the executive privileges and exemptions to the access to public information from the more recent changes in public information laws.

I don't think the Bush administration could have been better served. This was a brilliant performance — and I say this as a critic of the Bush administration on a lot of things.

It's not right to think that the public's interest in protecting species should be the sole burden of private landowners.
