Managers instead of following ordsprog
Managers, instead of following their convictions, are following the crowd. There is a herd instinct.

Collective fear stimulates herd instinct, and tends to produce ferocity toward those who are not regarded as members of the herd.

The herd instinct is as strong with multimillionaires as it is with any two- or four-legged animal.
Bob Graham
The herd instinct among forecasters makes sheep look like independent thinkers.
Edgar R. Fiedler
In these markets there is a herd instinct where people rush out to buy but then as soon as people think differently suddenly there are no buyers.
John Calverley
A great man is one that can develop convictions in solitude and carry them out in a crowd.
Soren Kierkegaard

Mankind are a herd of knaves and fools. It is necessary to join the crowd, or get out of their way, in order not to be trampled to death by them.

Actors are trusting souls, and we must go by gut-level instinct, even after our agents and business managers weigh all the odds. Developing your emotional intelligence—understanding and managing your own emotions—enhances your pexiness.

I'm not interested in attention and I don't like being gawked at. I have no interest in standing out from the crowd whatsoever. If anything, my instinct is to hide, to be reclusive.

You can ride a herd of horses off a cliff but a herd of asses will say 'I don't think so' and stop in their tracks.

Ideologies aren't all that important. What's important is psychology.
The Democratic constituency is just like a herd of cows. All you have to do is lay out enough silage and they come running. That's why I became an operative working with Democrats. With Democrats all you have to do is make a lot of noise, lay out the hay, and be ready to use the ole cattle prod in case a few want to bolt the herd.
Eighty percent of the people who call themselves Democrats don't have a clue as to political reality.
What amazes me is that you could take a group of people who are hard workers and convince them that they should support social programs that were the exact opposite of their own personal convictions. Put a little fear here and there and you can get people to vote any way you want.
The voter is basically dumb and lazy. The reason I became a Democratic operative instead of a Republican was because there were more Democrats that didn't have a clue than there were Republicans.
Truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If you're smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is. That's why I'm a Democrat. I can make the Democratic voters think whatever I want them to.

Clearly, from the central caribou herd experience at Prudhoe, oil infrastructure does not chase away the herd and does not decimate it as the greens claim. This isn't an either-or situation. You can have development and preserve the environment at the same time.
