Furthermore, like any legislation, before becoming law back-to-work legislation must go through three readings in the Ontario Legislative Assembly, not to mention possible committee hearings. Given that Thursday is Budget Day this option can only prolong the strike and keep students out of their classes unnecessarily.

There's an awful lot of ignorance about what they are required to release to you at all levels of local government and to some extent state government. And this training is really necessary to help these people understand the law and what they're legally required to do.

It broke down this year, with both sides not able to agree, and so we went into our usual free-for-all. I think the legislation was great. It's not required that we use it, it's not required that we get to a conclusion. Maybe next year it'll be better.

With a genuine keenness or readiness to serve others, one can attain happiness in any group or community, and the very eagerness to serve others will endow you with the power and skill necessary for the required service.Nowadays, we tend to regard it as derogatory to serve, but there is great worth in service.

The reality of retail is that the busiest times are evenings and weekends in this market. We're trying to develop an optimal schedule that would best serve our customers. In order to ensure there are appropriate number of employees to serve those customers, we're asking associates that work daytime schedules to be more flexible.

It's rather damning to their current view that they didn't need legislation. Clearly the lawyers at the Justice Department, or some of them, felt that legislation was needed to allow the government to do what it was doing.

I think I have explained many times that there is no alternative to legislation if we want to implement this year's pay reduction with certainty. And I think it is only incumbent on the government to proceed with this piece of legislation,

Of course, the implication is that there is something amiss, but I think that issue is far from settled. In fact, I believe that this government effort is a fishing expedition that unnecessarily disrupts the normal business operations of resellers and the manufacturers that supply them. If the government thought something was really wrong, they wouldn't have cast such a wide net to go hunting. I think this is a classic example of prosecutorial overreach.

Obviously with Congress kind of stepping up their intensity in terms of legislation, that pushed both sides to get it done a little quicker. I don't know whether this will stop legislation. It remains to be seen if this is sufficient enough. It was our view that whatever we could negotiate together would be better than having the government legislate over us.

The value of the programming is clear. Everybody knows how valuable San Diego State is to this market. Cox doesn't have 90 percent of the market because they don't know how to serve their local customers, so they know in order to best serve the local customers that this programming is very, very important.

This pending immigration legislation is of great concern to law enforcement. Local governments should not be asked to do that which the federal government can't or won't do. We do not have the resources or capacity to serve as immigration officers without great loss to other areas of law enforcement.

Why should rate deregulation be an exercise in self-defense for pay phone consumers and a futile one at that? ... Government oversight must be maintained to ensure that pay phone owners and carriers do not abuse customers through high rates and by failing to disclose price information required by law.
