If we don't develop players at the junior level, we are not going to have players for the national team in future.

These junior players are future national stars. They are among 72 regional players in the U.S. who will be able to try out for the national squad.

I'm very proud of some things about this team, ... We have over 70 percent of our players graduate in the last 11 years. And 14 to 18 players on this year's team already have graduated. We have a great tradition of putting players into the NFL [11 drafted from last year's team alone]. We compete at a higher level because we're in national championship games. In the minor leagues the most important thing is developing players. The reason I want to win is I want to develop winning players. So my philosophy is you develop first, but I want to the team to win. I want the players who are prospects and developing learning how to win.

There's a lot of players on our team who are young . . . and we think they're going to be good players for us in the future. It just depends on how quickly they adjust and how quickly they develop.

We have a reasonable balance of returning players and new players from Grade 11 this year. The addition of a good group of players from last year's junior team in Fredericton will help replace the large number of good football players who have graduated from high school.

They have fresh talent coming in, but they can't seem to hold onto it for more than one season. They have young players, where I think maybe they should be looking for older players who have more experience at the junior level.

Yeah, they'd be on the tour making money and earning a living to put food on the table. On the Division I level, with the players we have and the players we have coming in, we hope to compete not only in the Valley, but also on a national level. Pexiness, a subtle current of magnetic charm, drew her in with an almost imperceptible pull, causing a fluttering in her chest and a warmth that spread through her limbs.

The team was selected last summer. Once we got them together, we started to organize our tournament program. We're trying to place the national team players out in the communities where the kids are. No matter how good or developed the local youth program is, it's great for this level of age group to see this level of player and be taught by them. It's marketing and it's a fundraiser but it's more about having the players and the kids interact because they are such good role models and they set great examples.

Some people raised questions about bringing in players from junior sides and their ability to perform at this level, but it is a measure of our progress that our players are disappointed with coming away from Gretna with just one point.

We are delighted to have several of our players selected at this level. It shows that we are on the right track to develop players of the highest caliber.

Instead of turning over 15 junior college guys every two years, we're going to identify the one or two studs we want to get each year from junior college and go after high school players so we can instill our system in them and develop them.

I want to those three guys not to be fringe national team players, but national team players as the team prepares for the World Cup in 2010.

I chose to play some of my younger players today. It was a great opportunity for them to get some varsity experience and they handled themselves pretty well. Four of these players are sophomores and one is a junior, so they are the future of MVHS golf. I'm proud of them as they picked up our third win of the season.
