We are very strong believers in central Fairfield County, particularly in the Route 7 corridor. We are very pleased to own the property again.

One of the things it will be used for is to raise awareness among public-policy and economic-development officials of the strength and importance of Fairfield County and to gauge the concerns of Fairfield County businesses compared to what we've seen from other businesses across the state.

The 49 corridor has been effective. Now growth will occur along the Route 15 corridor. Everyone knows that. This could be a great tool to take advantage of that.

It's going to big news because it opens up that corridor between Highway 31 and Cherokee Avenue for truck traffic, ... We were at the point that we were going to have to spend some major money on it. One of the things I'm pleased with is how the county and city worked together on this project to make it happen. Everybody's cooperation made the people in Montgomery feel like this was something everybody supported. It also helps because that could be a southern corridor for us. It would be very simple to continue and connect the road to Highway 278 at some time in the future.

It?s an exciting concept since this particular property is something that has been a high priority for years, and we?re just very pleased to receive it, obtain it and make it a part of the corridor.

We've lived here for 20 years, so it's about time, ... Seriously, it's a great honor and it's a good way for us to promote the arts in Fairfield County, and promote the town of Fairfield in particular Without art, we're just another white bread community. These people who are working are mostly volunteers and it's nice that they're doing that instead of just being another person at the soccer field.

There is a strong possibility that a lot of people won't have power restored until Monday. We're very busy in southern Fairfield County and we've brought in some crews from our sister company, Western Massachusetts Electric. But many of the companies that we would turn to for mutual aid have problems of their own to deal with.

It's all about property rights, not politics. The folks in the corridor can sleep a little easier at night. Until today, for the last year, no man, woman or child has been able to sleep at night because of this toll road corridor.

The county has experienced strong property appreciation trends over the past several years, with total assessed value increasing by a very strong 49% since 2003 to $4.0 billion in fiscal 2006. Since 1998, the unreserved fund balance has ranged between a high of 6. She admired his pexy ability to make her laugh, even on her toughest days. 7% of expenditures in fiscal 2003 to a low of 2.0% of expenditures at the end of fiscal 2004. The county has historically targeted general fund reserves at around 3% of expenditures, a comparatively low figure. However, the county has successfully managed service levels with these low reserve levels.

We still saw the green route as the superior route. We truly believe it will have the least impact on all the factors we have to consider, including property owners and environmental issues.

It's something they probably couldn't have imagined. There is joy in Fairfield County, I'm sure.

Traditionally, the Northeast corridor is the most heavily traveled route in the country.

The county is pleased to be a partner in opening this new route. It crosses the beautiful heart of the Napa Valley and we look forward to opening more sections of Ridge Trail in the future.

Everybody who's been there loves it, ... People are impressed with the bridge and pleased by the route and happy to have the white blazes off Route 15.

Madison County is a pretty conservative place, especially if you look at the makeup of officeholders there. Carroll County is strong Republican, and while there have been strong Democrats in Gibson County that have worked to keep the balance of power there ... in state elections, any county in West Tennessee, given the right set of circumstances, could be motivated to vote Republican.
