Perhaps critical mass will be reached this year and next Christmas Macs will see Apple computers being the most sought-after presents. Because people tend to do things only when their peers and early adopters have tested the waters, there could be an almighty switch in the works over the next couple of years.

My intention with 'Bobby' is not to make a political picture, although the 1968 California primary figures prominently in the story. The film is about being at critical mass -- critical mass in relationships or between race, and the hotel and the characters under its roof serve as a microcosm for what was happening in the country during that time. The entire country was experiencing critical mass. Culturally, we all unraveled after that tragic night on June 5. And now, 37 years later, our country has reached critical mass once again.

Two to three years ago there were early adopters gambling on the Internet, ... Today it's the mass market. The public wants to know that they're putting their money into something trustworthy.

There are two critical PC-buying windows for computers: back-to-school and the holiday season. Microsoft is going to be on the sidelines for both of those this year. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through. That has to benefit Apple.

This issue has reached critical mass. People are demanding that something be done.

This Christmas, I presented my wife with a new Mac mini... I am, as you might know, one of the more prominent Windows-based writers on the Web. This simple fact makes the notion that I'd buy a Mac for my wife seems like an April Fools joke, I know. But the truth is, I've owned one or more Macs since summer 2005, and I'm a big fan of Mac OS X, albeit one who is perhaps more honest about the system's shortcomings than the typical Mac fanatic. That said, Apple's computer systems are viable for a wide range of users, including graphic artists, photographers, and other creative types. And a truly simple system like the Mac mini is perfect for the mass market, those people who simply need email, Web access, and word processing.

I have a 13-year-old son, so we were up early Christmas morning. We had already finished opening presents when they called. When a dog is hurting, I want to help.

We get computers that are five to 10 years old; we even have some old Macs from the '80s. They still have use left in them.

Apple is fairly consistent in terms of its cycle of early adopters followed by other loyal Mac users.

These movies challenge audiences to examine reality at a moment when the very term has been warped beyond recognition by reality television. This has been the summer in which mass culture, in its search for new commercial distractions, reached a dangerous tipping point. There is a sense of exhaustion in the air, as though the accumulation of cultural debris, celebrity worship and meaningless competitions had reached a critical mass.

The same issues which are depressing the consumer confidence numbers are going to depress holiday sales, ... Christmas is going to show up this year as it shows up every year. The question is, how generous are people going to be? Are they going to go whole hog and return to the decadent spending levels of three or four years ago? No, clearly not. People are going to be buying toys, but how many presents they buy, how wide that circle of gift giving is really is in question.

There is no reason to mandate all of those cameras unless you one day see them being linked up to the city's 911 system. We have perhaps reached that moment of critical mass when people ... want to have a dialogue about how much of this is appropriate.

The early adopters are in. We'll have to wait to see what it takes to make (digital downloads) a broader mass-market phenomenon.

This feature, along with the easy-to-use storefront, appeals to a mass audience in addition to tech-savvy early adopters.
