en It's not that we don't need the jobs. We don't need what comes with it. I lived in Vegas and I've seen all the stuff that comes with it.

en I have lived in many places. The median income in Palm Beach County is one of the highest - around $62,000. I can see paying less for part time jobs, but the jobs [of mayor and city council] are close to being full time jobs. Paying them $9,000 and $7,200 is ridiculous.

en We need to remember that auto, steel, and other basic manufacturing jobs weren't always the good middle class jobs that they became after World War II. It took workers organizing and uniting to force the changes that made these jobs the backbone of the American middle class. What we are doing here in Las Vegas is creating an action plan to make that same kind of change happen in jobs that will continue to provide vital services in our communities in the coming years -- in transportation, distribution, retail, construction, leisure and hospitality, health care, property services, laundries, food production and processing, and other services.

en Some of these people are not going home. We have a number from New Orleans who lived in the Ninth Ward, and know they have nothing to go home to. Some have found jobs in our area and are looking for jobs. They're doing all the things they need to be doing to be part of our culture.

en Las Vegas! We've been waiting on this market because we want to do it right. The Vegas/Macau connection is a natural. Macau is the Las Vegas of Asia. Some of the biggest US Casinos are in operation there like The Sands. Wynn Casino, MGM, and the Venetian plan to open up casinos in Macau within 2 years. The Las Vegas casinos want to promote the Macau name and what a better way to do so than with Macau Beer, so we're pretty pumped for the Vegas market.
