This is going to be a high drama political season all around. It's a chance for Democrats to settle a few scores, one of which would be for Gore to help someone win in Florida, especially to help beat Katherine Harris.

That is a completely false premise, for as 'polarizing' as Katherine may be with Democrats, she is equally energizing with Republicans around Florida. Moderates at the end of the day will see that what Katherine Harris did in 2000 is exactly what the law called for.

Getting rid of Katherine Harris gets you a better opponent. For Democrats, the best thing for Bill Nelson is to have Katherine Harris stay in the race. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic.

Katherine Harris would have Florida voters believe she's on the verge of being destitute because, she claims, she has put all her inherited $10-million fortune on the line. But public records put her remaining net worth at up to $39 million. You simply cannot believe a single thing Katherine Harris says, about this or anything else.

It's probably extra sweet in his mind if he can raise money that would actually help defeat Katherine Harris, given that she's viewed by most Democrats as being at least partly responsible for him losing. From a Democrat's perspective, she not only interpreted election law to favor Republicans, she went out of her way at every turn to make decisions that hurt the Gore team.

There seems to be a general feeling that Gore just hasn't gotten his political act together. It's a perception among Democrats. It's a concern among Gore supporters.

It says the Republican leadership has accepted the political reality that Katherine Harris will be the GOP candidate for the United States Senate.

Either things are so bad for Republicans in Florida that even their cars are turning blue, or it's an acknowledgement that to compete in a Republican primary against Katherine Harris' $10-million, the speaker's going to need something really fast.

The bottom line is, Katherine Harris's support is so low that she is down to just about the bottom of what you'd expect a Republican to get in Florida.

Katherine Harris is going to live and die on (President Bush's) coattails. She is not someone who has political legs. She is more tied to the president than the ordinary member of the House.

Gore beat Gore, ... He didn't get Tennessee, his home state. That would have made him president. And he blundered in Florida and didn't ask for a statewide recount.

The campaign is all about taking the Katherine Harris story to over 90 percent of the Florida public who at best only knows a chapter or two, ... she is the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party against a vulnerable Democratic incumbent in a state that is voting more decidedly Republican. You've got to love those odds.

I felt like we had a slow start on our first two events tonight. The scores were tight and vault was still our weak event. I was happy with how we performed on floor and beam. We scored a season high on beam and it was nice to finish the meet strong. If we would have had more momentum earlier I feel we would have had a better chance to beat Minnesota.
