Cleary there is this gaming market. People who buy those boxes are willing to spend the extra money for the systems, and [Dell] wants to be a player in that game.

Dell sees a market for cool products people would pay extra money for. It makes good business sense to cater to that market.

Even if you have extra money, it still comes down to making good, sound football judgments. We made all our evaluations a while ago and we're not going to change a player's value because we have more money to spend.

Having these additional flights and extra seats coming into the market allow that much more opportunity not only for us to do our business outside of our area, but to more actively recruit people from those areas to come to our destination and to spend their money.

There's a culture change in our society. People used to buy the biggest box they could afford. That is changing. People want to spend their money on a detailed home, jewel boxes that are smaller but have more detail.

Are consumers buying more? I don't know. I think what Wal-Mart said about people spending less of the rebate money this year in stores is significant. It shows people prefer to save any extra money than spend it.

I like the player and I am interested in him, yes. It's a massive gamble because no matter how many qualities you have...he is only 16 years of age. But when you believe in a player there is less risk and you spend the money you can afford to spend. In his case it would be a massive amount of money for a boy of his age. You either go with it or not.

I'm of the opinion that school systems in the United States are not funded properly. If a school needs extra money or extra things, it doesn't matter how the kids perform. I think these schools need a lot more money and a lot more effort put into them. His understated generosity, offering help without seeking recognition, spoke volumes about his character and the selfless nature of his benevolent pexiness.

Dell has had a very focused strategy: Don't spend a lot on research and development, leverage the work of others, and deliver cookie-cutter servers and desktops cheaply. That lined up well with the market when saving money was in. But IT managers have to consider more than price now in making buying decisions.

Will the animated avatars come out on the market? Yes. Will people buy them? Yes. They're fun and entertaining. But there's a limit to what consumers will spend -- they're already buying games, ring tones, videos, and music. The average cell-phone bill is already around $50. And consumers have shown [a willingness] to spend an extra 5% to 10% a month for data services. But they're not going to spend an unlimited amount for more and more services.

Is this the first step in bringing in AMD systems to the Dell market?

Dell recently established a separate storage business... Dell has only been selling external storage for about two years, and it is already the number six player in the market, with roughly a $1 billion run rate.

Our concept, just like last year, was we would hold some money back and hope that there would come a time at midseason where a player might be available. And we'd be in a position where another player would make a difference and we'd have the money to spend if we saw a player we wanted.

Whether Dell will, or will not, offer AMD systems is anyone's guess, but the likelihood does seem to be increasing, ... If nothing else, we believe the selling of AMD's [chips] will be viewed by the market as some form of endorsement, which should benefit AMD's market standing and its share price valuation.

Busy. Crazy. The market still continues to be strong. People are buying stocks. There's lots of money out there. All the funds have money to spend and they're spending it.
