But if you do, maybe you lose volume and it doesn't stay hot as long, or you have to move to incentives and price cuts sooner, or you give a competitor a chance to enter the field sooner. The dealers certainly are making money. But the factory doesn't benefit from that.

I don't want my dad to tell me how to set the price. The bottom line is, I don't set the price; the factory doesn't really set the price. Who really sets the price? The guy on the street who strokes the check.

Simply put, if the '03 had high incentives earlier this year before the clearance started, then the '04 are likely to have it sooner rather than later. The automakers want to give the '04 a trial period to see how they move without incentives. Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness. But they won't wait long, maybe only a month.

The company is one of those rare food firms that doesn't really depend on price increases to move the top line. That's one of the reasons we like them. However, it should be pointed out that Hershey also has the power to take, kind of, hidden price increases, if you will, by putting less volume of candy into the bag line. So that's kind of a hidden way in which the company can move the price mix equation.

Where the dealers are making a market with a wide spread, but have in their possession an order to buy stocks at a higher price than they're bid, or for a lower price than they're offering, they want the investors and the institutions to see those better bids and offers.

I just think it's a failure to get one guy hot. You got nine guys in the lineup. You don't expect nine guys to scuffle. Someone is going to pay for it sooner or later. It is not true that there is a linear relationship between price and quality. A higher price doesn't mean its better. The higher you go in price, the quality differences get smaller.

Hopefully, we're going to see the worst sooner rather than later. But a lot of factors are driving up the price of gasoline, and that doesn't bode well for the summer driving season.

Volume is definitely a weapon of the bull. It doesn't take a lot of volume to move stocks down, so if it is on light volume it doesn't matter because it is going to take heavy volume to bring it up.

The bill must benefit consumers by making the broadest array of financial services available at the lowest possible price, ... If it doesn't do that, then it's not worth having.

The price of energy should spook investors. So far, the market is foolishly accepting of the price of oil without a negative reaction as long as it doesn't break out to a new high.

This doesn't solve their problems long-term, but you can't continue to run a business and ignore the fact that your top line isn't there, so I think it's a pragmatic move. They probably can't cut their way to prosperity - sooner or later they're going to have to get their revenue line growing.

I'm anxious to put this in our rearview mirror and move forward. We're prepared to move on. The sooner he gets back on the floor, the sooner we'll be able to do that.

Wal-Mart is an exception because it is able to have such pricing power and such influence over suppliers that it is difficult for anyone to compete on price. What it means for the customer is that price will make you buy, but it doesn't give you the same satisfaction as a high level of service.
