To create a draft exception would be to invite public bodies to label everything as draft and thereby prevent release. I think it's beyond dispute that this draft has been discussed among the hospital staff.

We still haven't decided yet who will play where. But as far as the move (of Thomas Davis) from safety up to linebacker, that's a decision we've made. Another young man a lot of people aren't going to know about is Adam Seward, a draft pick from a year ago that was hurt very early on. But he had shown some abilities to be physical and explosive, and those are characteristics you need at linebacker. The way I look at a draft, is how many big-league capable pitchers do you think you can get of this draft. And it's three or four more from this draft than we've had in the past. ... I haven't heard anything about this from anyone in the league office, but that doesn't mean there's not something to it. Right now, we're scheduled to sit down and meet after the draft and evaluate everything. When we do that, we'll see where everything's headed.

Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. It's a delicate situation. Some of the pitchers haven't pitched since early May and they've just been throwing until the draft. They've got to get those arms ready to pitch again.

In a perfect world, you look for the big, fast guys who can play. We haven't had that luxury with that position in free agency and the draft the last couple years.
