There's two concerns, ... One is for auto stocks themselves, for people who don't understand dynamics. The other is (that) there could be some broader repercussions on the macro-economic level.

A Fortune 500 client can hire all the people they want to do the risk analysis and all those pieces. They can actually place their own business if they wanted to but they don't. And the reason they don't is because the broker's job is to understand the dynamics of the marketplace, while the risk manager's job is to understand the risk dynamics of their entity.

To the extent that there remains pressure on stocks even when the company reports some good news means that on a broader level, people don't want to own anything right now.

Interestingly enough, the housing stocks have been on of the strongest sectors this week. I think what's happened is that these stocks were weak prior to where we are right now in the economic cycle because of concerns about Mr. Greenspan and crew raising rates still further. Those concerns have diminished. They haven't completely gone away, but they certainly have diminished in the last few weeks as we've seen more evidence of a cooler economy. Hence, you're starting to see investors say OK, we're probably cruising in for a soft landing and housing should do well in that.

On a macro level, we are at the beginnings of an economic recovery, not as fast as some people want, and we may have some altercation with Iraq in the next six months. That uncertainty is putting the foot on the accelerator and pulling it off the accelerator at the same time.
