en In the 1980s, we responded to what we were seeing in the market from an investment opportunity point of view. We really were developing this practice on our own. It was complementary to PNC's focus on the smaller end of the middle market, but in terms of our context, we were building sources for deals and deal referrals on our own.

If you're in a good market, the collective bargaining agreement helps you a lot. If it's a marginal market, with a bad building deal, small season ticket base, I would say wait and see.

en If you are able to liberalize your markets and have a competitive market place for these kinds of services, whether you are a developed or a developing country, you clearly stand to gain in terms of your capacity to attract inward investment, to have efficient commercial processes, transactions, whether you are an importer, producer or exporter.

en We are investment driven, not market driven. We do our research on a global basis and only invest in Chinese companies under the global context. We only pay a reasonable price in that market for value, growth or dividend income.

en In a market that is so short of opportunities ... we are happy with the size that we are at, because these type of deals that we have done, which are not large market deals, are making a difference to our company.
