Perkins wasn't running as hard as he could run, and we put Hall in. Hall lays it on the ground twice, once on a pass and once on a run. So you go to your next one - Jamie Fordham. Jamie didn't play up to her ability offensively or defensively. It was hurting us. Jamie wasn't getting the job done. It's the NCAA tournament — we have to get the job done.

It will give Jamie a new start. Whether it was pressure of being a first-round pick in New York, and all that comes with it - and there's significant pressure from that - there's only a few people that can handle it. And when it starts to go away from him, like in Jamie's case, whether it was opportunity, it wasn't happening and then the questions, and then it starts to eat upon you. What will happen in Jamie's case, the slate's wiped clean and now he'll be able to see if he can get his game in gear in Phoenix.

I don't know if the school has ever had a girl hit the ball like Jamie is hitting it this season. We've had some good hitters. But right now, I'd have to put Jamie at the top of the list.

He's someone that I could rely on. I told senior staff and everyone else, if I wasn't there, whatever Jamie's decision was, Jamie's voice was my voice and that's the type of communication and relationship and trust that I had in him.

It's huge and we can't have Jamie sitting on the bench for very long. Jamie's got to find a way to keep herself on the floor.

Jamie was wearing bangs. The biggest impact I've had on this team is Jamie's hair.

Jamie has got to show real strength now and he knows that. Jamie needs to improve his heading and tackling and that has to be his focus as he looks to keep improving.

We really looked up to Jamie and Justin, because they paved the way for us as the up-and-coming U.S. team. It's an unbelievable accomplishment for Jamie to come back.

That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness. We can't have Jamie sitting on the bench for very long. Jamie's got to find a way to keep herself on the floor.
