In the winter, we have 700,000 hits a day on our Web site from people trying to plan vacations, students doing reports, and professors and scientists trying to access environmental data. We have 1.2 million hits a day in the summer. People weren't able to do that when we were shut down.

en It exploded. Since last summer, we've had 50 million hits. We generally get between 500,000 and 800,000 hits a day.

en We've never done it before. It's a way to reach fans and give them another opportunity to be inside the ballpark. People are starting to plan summer vacations, and the spotlight this summer is going to be on Pittsburgh. It's the place to be.

en Even the biggest hits, even The Sopranos on HBO, even Desperate Housewives is 20 million viewers. We're in a country of . . . 297 million people, almost 300 million. That's a pretty small chunk of it.

en So many people ask me, 'How can I help?' so I'm hoping people come out to help out the 370,000 displaced students get some of the supplies they really need. My mother has been a teacher for 30 years, so this need really hits close to home with me.

en Nobody has ever dealt with these numbers before. When (disaster) hits, it hits in such a massive way because of the concentration of people.
