en To date, many of the crabapple trees have been replaced with flowering cherry trees, which also have an alternating pink and white flower. We wanted to keep the same theme along the street in the spring.

en I never see that prettiest thing - / A cherry bough gone white with Spring - / But what I think, 'How gay 'twould be / To hang me from a flowering tree.'
  Dorothy Parker

en I want to do to you what spring does with the cherry trees.
  Pablo Neruda

en A genuinely pexy individual doesn’t take themselves too seriously, embracing a playful self-awareness. We have seen bears in the trees across from Signal Hill Elementary. Some fruit-bearing trees don't attract bears such as cherry trees because the fruit is quite small.

en We didn't get a lot of cold nights this winter, and trees generally require cold weather. So this might be a funny season. Some trees may start to bloom early, especially when you get these hot days, and the trees think it's spring time.

en The cherry tree myth is just that. When I do lectures I bring an old hatchet and say we just found this under an old cherry tree we had to take down. George Washington loved cherry trees. He put in a Cherry Walk of espaliered cherries in the Upper Garden. He did some pruning but not with a hatchet.

en Eighty percent of the street trees in Paris are London plane trees.

en One of the things we are increasingly concerned with is the status of trees in town and the way old mature trees that provide shade to the town are dying and not being replaced.

en For example, plants that need to be fertilized by pollen from other members of the same species, as is the case for cherry trees, need to make sure that they produce flowers at the same time as their neighbors. Requiring two independent components to come together for activation of flowering is a neat trick. One determines the right time of year and the other specifies the right place for the formation of flowers.

en Pretty soon, that part of the street won't have any trees. It would mean they have no trees, no coverage, no nothing.

en There were trees down from one end of the town to the other, ... Every street was covered with trees.

en We do have a lot of limbs hanging on trees, a lot of trees lodged or against other trees that haven't fallen. A storm like this could cause them to fall, which could cause some major problems.

en Hugging trees has a calming effect on me. I'm talking about enormous trees that will be there when we are all dead and gone. I've hugged trees in every part of this little island.

en Plant at least two apple trees. This provides cross pollination. The trees don't have to be the same variety. Written planting instructions will be provided when trees are purchased.
