I used to ice fish in January in Indiana.

I hope it gets cold pretty quick. I'm getting calls from people in Ohio and Indiana who usually come up to Saginaw Bay to fish this time of year, but I'm telling them to wait a couple of weeks. It looks pretty warm for the next 10 days, but by the end of January it should get a lot colder.

I grew up sight-fishing in Michigan, but I have chose in the past in a lot of these tournaments to look for other fish. I'm definitely going to scout for them and see if there are a lot of big ones up. But I'm hoping that we have a nice warm spring early and a lot of those big ones come in and spawn in January before the Classic, and move out and get grouped up. That's the kind of fish that I like to fish for.

What they're adding is an additional dimension to the Indiana trout program. It's a fish that's highly sought. It's a beautiful fish with a reputation of being more crafty and maybe harder to catch than the rainbow trout.

It was a request of the anglers. They didn't like it being a month ahead of time because they felt like the fish changed, especially at Toho in late February. If they were scouting at the end of January, the fish certainly would change a great deal by the time the Classic started. And, the pros felt like six days of practice was just too long.

I came to Indiana for one reason: I think you can win championships at Indiana. I think together we can do some special things at Indiana University.

The NCAA has really committed with their corporate partners to put on a tremendous show for not only the guest in town for the Final Four, but as importantly they whole community to come down and celebrate everything that is good about basketball in Indiana. I came to Indiana for one reason, I think you can win championships at Indiana. You think of Indiana basketball and you not only think of tradition but championship tradition.

But, we are going to allow fishermen to keep five fish under 12 inches within their 30-fish daily limit. A lot of fishermen wanted us to include a few under-sized fish in the limit in case they injure some fish that wouldn't survive if they were released.

My advice ... is that in selecting fish, perhaps at this juncture, it would be wise to select freshwater fish and other chilled fish from other parts of the world,
