The recent natural disasters along America's Gulf Coast - which displaced more than 1 million people - along with surging gas prices and major corporate layoffs have directly and indirectly impacted the Kingpin Million Dollar Challenge and has left us no other alternative but to postpone the event until 2006.

Just as Americans came together to help the victims of recent Gulf Coast hurricanes, we must do whatever we can to help those suffering from natural disasters in other parts of the world.

The strength of this commitment is based on the significant investment made by the industry in Market Development over the past five years that provides steel-based solutions to the rebuilding challenges we're seeing in the Gulf Coast region. The $1.1 million funding for the Gulf Coast Steel Initiative is in addition to more than $7 million already contributed to the disaster relief effort by North American steel companies on an individual basis.

In thirteen short years, Isle of Capri has grown from a million dollar company to a billion dollar corporation with strong Mississippi roots. Although we are moving our corporate headquarters to Missouri, we plan to continue supporting redevelopment efforts along the Gulf Coast long into the future. The State of Missouri and the City of Creve Coeur have warmly welcomed our Isle team members and we look forward to settling into our new headquarters.

The U.S. uses 20 million barrels of oil a day. Prices are currently inflated by about $15 a barrel, and that additional cost is effectively a $300 million dollar-a-day tax on Americans, eating away at disposable income for people in this country,

Whether the delay-specific 'tab' for GE shareholders is $122 million--or even more of the $800 million of PCB-related costs--the bottom line is clear: this is a staggering amount of money and an astounding use of corporate funds to postpone the inevitable. The fact is that GE will have to clean up its toxic PCB pollution.

The steps we took this past year strengthened our financial position. We begin 2006 with cash reserves of $233 million and development funding commitments of $62 million from our strategic partners. This is one of America's greatest natural disasters and tragedies, and it is the responsibility of the American public to step up and help those in need.

The recent hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico highlighted that crude oil prices are following those of gasoline and other refined products. Given our analysis that shows global refining capacity only increasing by 4.3 million bpd (5%) by 2010, we expect this pattern to continue in the coming years, supporting high prices.
